It should be noted that fifty years ago today Boston National Historical Park became the 272nd national park unit (there are 431 units today) through an act of Congress, Public Law 93-431.

Tourism to National Parks of Boston contributes $298.8 million to local economy
A new National Park Service report shows that 2.9 million visitors to National Parks of Boston in 2023 spent $196.5 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 2,430 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $298.8 million.
Memorandum
Beginning on August 5, 2024 the US Navy will establish an extended security perimeter on Pier One, West, in anticipation of their temporary berthing location on August 9th. The USS Constitution will be berthing in the visiting ship location on Pier One from August 9th until approximately August 30th due to dredging operations that will be occurring within the Pier One slip.

BOSTON–National Parks of Boston Superintendent Michael Creasey has named longtime National Park Service leader Liza Stearns as the new Deputy Superintendent.

Battle of Bunker Hill Programs Honor Past, Look to Future
BOSTON–From June 9-17, the National Parks of Boston and partners will host a series of events to commemorate the 249th anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill. All programs are free and open to the public. Featured programs include an evening Luminary Gathering on June 15 and the annual Battle of Bunker Hill Remembrance Ceremony & Oration on June 17.
