Friendship Hill was the country home of Albert Gallatin
Albert Gallatin is best remembered for his thirteen year tenure as Secretary of the Treasury during the Jefferson and Madison administrations. In that time he reduced the national debt, purchased the Louisiana Territory and funded the Lewis & Clark exploration. Gallatin's accomplishments and contributions are highlighted at Friendship Hill, his restored country estate.

Friendship Hill Celebrates General Lafayette's Farewell Tour
General Lafayette Returns to Friendship Hill
August 1824 to September 1825, Lafayette will return to the United States for a Farewell Tour. He will visit all 24 states at numerous sites. Including a visit and speech in Uniontown, PA with his friend Albert Gallatin. Gallatin will invite Lafayette to Friendship Hill for a peaceful evening that ends up not being so quiet.
